Reynold F. Nesiba: A thoughtful, responsible, and effective voice in the South Dakota State Senate

State Senator Reynold F. Nesiba has taught economics at Augustana University and worshipped at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for over 25 years. He is in his third term serving District 15 in the South Dakota Senate.

Reynold has helped lead efforts to eliminate the sales tax on food, limit the use of the state airplane fleet to state business, raise our state minimum wage, and stop Amendment C to protect majority rule. He has worked to create jobs and build a stronger economy for all South Dakotans. He has been a strong advocate for expanding healthcare access, creating a Pre-K education council, and enhancing workers’ rights.

As our State Senator, Reynold has worked to

  • Defend and improve the initiated measure process.

  • Ensure payday lenders can’t return to South Dakota.

  • Advocate for need-based college scholarships.

  • Allow our driver‘s license application, manuals, and written examination to be in Spanish.

  • Improve educational services for all children, including those who are deaf and hard of hearing.
